Baboon! has bananas, bombs, and polar bears? Coming to Vita soon

How do baby baboons grab bananas that are out of their reach? They shove a bomb under their butt and pray to their monkey gods.

That's no joke. That's actually what happens in upcoming Vita game Baboon!.

It's a 2D, retro-inspired arcade game that provides a challenging mix of puzzling and platforming.

You have to guide a young baboon up the vertically scrolling levels, grabbing as many bananas as possible, and avoiding lava and other hazards as you go.

Rather than jumping, you have to aim with the thumbstick in the direction you want the baboon to go, then stop a power bar to determine the force of the bomb's explosion.

It's like playing golf with a baboon and a bomb, basically.

As you progress, you'll unlock different types of bombs, including ones that can freeze lava, and a ghost bomb that does, well, something spooky.

There's also a story with quirky characters to meet along the way. And a shop where you can unlock various cosmetic items for your ape friend.

Baboon! will be heading to the European PSN Store for Vita soon.
