Fruity shmup Avoid Droid will come to iOS a month after its Vita release
Which should be sometime in June
About a month ago, we had the chance to go hands-on with the bright, arcade-style Avoid Droid on the PS Vita.
This passive shmup looked for all the world like Fruit Ninja mashed up with Bubble Bobble and the bullet hell gameplay of Ikaruga.
If this sounds interesting to you and you don't have a Vita, well - today's your lucky day. Infinite State Games has announced that it'll release an iOS version of Avoid Droid one month after its PS Vita version hits the PSN.
There's no information on an Android version of Avoid Droid yet. And no, the humour isn't lost on us either.
In addition to the 50 unique challenge of its Remix Mission Mode, Avoid Droid will offer a Chill Out Mode, a Time Attack Mode, and a randomly generated Arcade Mode to keep you on your toes.
During our time with Avoid Droid, we found it to be quite the charming little game. Noting that "it plays wonderfully, and it's refreshingly different", we went on to say it could "easily be a surprise hit for the Vita".
Now we'll amend that statement and say it could easily be a surprise hit for the Vita, iPhone, and iPad when it launches this summer.
If all that isn't enough to make you happy today, you can head over to Bandcamp and download the deliciously quirky Avoid Droid soundtrack for the just-right price of free.
