Zen Bound has been winning awards left, right and centre, but it's also had the critics in raptures (including our good selves).

The game - published by Chillingo and developed by Secret Exit - has proved by it taking top spot in our sister site PocketGamer.biz's iPhone Quality Index for the first quarter of 2009.

The index aggregates scores from the most popular iPhone game review sites, and Zen Bound scored a whopping 9.75 average mark.

It was closely followed by EDGE (9.00), and Archibald's Adventures (9.00), with the top five rounded out by Tic A Tac Poker (8.67) and Blue Attack! (8.65). Not the names you were expecting, perhaps.

Meanwhile, ngmoco takes top spot in the accompanying publishers chart, with a meaty average review score of 8.38. It's followed by fellow big hitters Gameloft (8.05) and EA Mobile (7.82).
