SEGA Mega Drive raises Nintendo Classic Mini with their new 25th anniversary consoles, complete with 80 games
|

Earlier on this month the Nintendo Classic Mini was announced and people went wild for it. Today however we received information that SEGA has seen and raised Nintendo by releasing their duo of Sonic the Hedgehog's 25th anniversary consoles, available October 2016.

Where some people were wild about the Nintendo Classic Mini announcement, the other side of the community will be going mad for today's news that SEGA is bringing the Mega Drive back with a 2-player home console complete with cartridge slot, and a handheld console with an SD card slot.

What's more exciting than the prospect of seeing SEGA Mega Drive back on our screens – or in our hands – is the whopping 80 games packed into each system. The likes of which include the first three Sonic the Hedgehog games, the first three Mortal Kombat games, Golden Axe (again one, two, and three), and many, many more.

Both retailing at £49.99, the console itself will be a plug & play for your TVs at home and are compatible with existing Mega Drive cartridges from your ancient stash, while the hand-held console will come with a USB charging cable. Retro gaming has never been easier.
