The gaming world has gone fairly console crazy after the past fortnight. First the Nintendo Classic Mini was announced, followed by SEGA's 25th anniversary console announcement, and I'm sure there's more to come. Where things get blown out of the water however is in modder daftmike's recent video of his version of the NES Mini. Nintendo, take note.

The NES Mini is a great start, but it's undoubtedly got some room for improvement. Where 30 in-built games seem like a lot, Nintendo haven't actually included cartridge support in this new (old) system. Point one to SEGA.

Where daftmike has made gaming news today is in his improved, 3D-printed, Raspberry Pi –powered console, along with cartridge support. Oh, cartridges which he made, by the way.

I can hear the engineers of the world booting up their printers as we speak – especially you, you know who you are.

Check out the video below as this takes 'home-made' to a new level or check out daftmike's YouTube channel.
