Gamescom 2016 - A brief look at Old Man's Journey
|

We were fortunate to meet Felix Bohatsch at Gamescom to discuss Broken Rules' newest title, Old Man's Journey. Sadly my lips are sealed about a lot of the details we discussed so far but there're a few bits we can talk about.

The game's theme is "A games about life, loss, and hope." If any of you have ever seen a film or played a game with this message in it, you know it isn't always going to be a story filled with rainbows and sunshine. It's the best and worst thing about life, in that sense.

Old Man's Journey's innocence and simplicity of the story complements its almost children's book-like visual design as it uses contrasting cool and warm colours. It looks fairly linear but thanks to its vertical slice you can move those distant hills up and down to let your character progress through the level, all the while exploring the secrets around you.

Coming in 2017, it's still very early in the game's development. But watch this space as we wait for Broken Rules to reveal further details in the next couple of months. It's going to be good.
