The recently formed gaming company FoxNext has just bought up the L.A.-based (and soon San Francisco-based) game developer, Aftershock.

With three titles currently in development, the only announced one being a mobile strategy game for James Cameron's Avatar franchise. Though we still know very little about the game, president of FoxNext, Salil Mehta, said, "We are evaluating rollout but believe it will come out before the sequels. It's an incredible way for many global fans to experience the world of Pandora".

Mehta also said that overall FoxNext isn't looking to stamp Aftershock with a FOX imprint, but rather are keen to have the studio keep its unique and distinctive personality and culture.

As well as Aftershock's Aaron Loeb joining as FoxNext's president of studios for FoxNext Games, roughly 80 employees will also be joining the company.
