Orange UK reveals iPad data plans
From 5p per MB or £15 per month
Whatever you think about the recently announced European prices for the iPad, at least we didn’t have to wait too long to find out the 3G pricing plans.
Orange has revealed that it will be providing special iPad 3G plans for the UK, France, Spain and Switzerland, and will utilise either a pay-as-you-use system, or the more standard monthly fee.
The standard Orange data plan is 5p per MB, with a monthly cap of £40. You do get £10 credit on activation and the option of adding bundles to ease the pain.
UK menuThe monthly bundles for the UK come in two flavours - £15 for 3GB and £25 for 10GB.
Both plans have unlimited browsing at Wi-Fi hotspots, but the two asterisks that follow reveal this will be subject to a 750Mb fair usage policy.
If you don’t fancy the idea of setting aside a monthly fee, Orange is also offering a £2 option that entitles you to 200Mb until midnight the same day, and a weekly option that costs £7.50 and comes with a 1GB limit.
Orange will begin selling the special Micro Sims used in the iPad from the 10 May, via the Orange online shop for anyone who’s already decided they want one of the magical tablets.
