With the release of the PSVR just around the corner you're bound to see plenty of VR-related posts over these next couple of weeks. Today however we've come to learn that Disney has recently announced collaboration with Oculus on a series of upcoming experiences based on iconic franchises and characters.

The announcement at Oculus Connect 3 let us know that despite its initial toe-dip into the pool of VR, the Disney Movies Steam app, was not anything to go off of and that they intend on raising the bar of VR.

Given Disney's determination and ability to somehow come top of the pile whatever happens, it's quite possible it'll be producing content at Emmy-awarded Henry levels. Especially after investing $65 million in the VR camera and content business Jaunt last month.

Though, of course, with typical teasing tactics Disney didn't comment further on what plans they had for this collaboration other than 'bringing classic Disney experiences to VR'.

According to The Verge's article we should be expecting original Disney shorts based off of classic characters - oh, as well as a VR experience based off the upcoming Blade Runner film.
