If you're on the fence about picking up an Oculus Rift DK2, you might have just lost your chance. The Oculus Development Kit 2 is now sold out.

Unless you get lucky and find one on eBay, that is.

Oculus appears to have ceased production on their final development kit as they move into the final approach for launch of the Consumer Rift headset in early 2016.

Oculus has confirmed to us that there are no more DK2 headsets, but developers can still reach out to the relations team with any requests or questions.

Those of you looking to buy a DK2 on an auction site could find the prices far inflated from the original $350 dollar price tag as resellers crank the price to account for the lack of availability.Boxed headsets have typically sold quite high because of Oculus's refusal to ship to certain countries, so expect to pay much more.

Used headsets on the other side could have wear and tear. Oculus doesn't offer support for second-hand purchases on the development kits so you should bear this in mind when considering a purchase.

The Oculus Rift was the first consumer priced headset to come to market after being backed by 9,522 backers pledged $2,437,429 on Kickstarter to bring it to life.
