MSI bringing a backpack VR-ready PC to the masses
|

Have you ever wanted to get involved in virtual reality gaming but feel tied down by all of those cables? Fancy a bit more power than one of the mobile options?

Purveyor of quality gaming hardware MSI is taking a gamble on VR and have unveiled plenty of VR capable laptops and desktops that can drag you into the warm embrace of your virtual reality cocoon but there's more.

There's a bloody backpack PC. The press release claims you'll be able to enjoy virtual reality without limits, but it doesn't have any solar panels, so I can think of at least one bit limitation.

Anyway, it's got some solid power going on under the hood. It's powered by Intel extreme Core i7 processors and a GTX980 graphics card. It's got enough grunt to be VR ready, although those of you looking to stream at the same time might have trouble.

Again, according to the press release: "MSI Backpack PC enables gamers to move naturally without restraints, benefitting gamers to get full immersion in the exhilarating world of virtual reality." presumably forgetting that carrying a backpack sized PC on your back like a bloody proton pack is a little immersion breaking.

There's no doubt that the PC is cool, but i've got a bunch more questions to ask. Mostly, when are we going to get a Ghostbusters VR game? We'll find out more after Computex next week.
