O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: March 7th

Miss Croft has had a good innings by any game character's standards, and it seems only right that she should be given time off from shooting dogs and braving the dank dark recesses of netherworld caverns to have a celebration in Tomb Raider Anniversary. Actually, come to think of it, Tomb Raider Anniversary does feature quite a bit of dog killing and netherworld exploring but to be fair, Lara in a threat-filled tomb should be as happy as a pig in mud.

Reality TV is a much more recent concept in the world of mobile gaming than tomb raiding and in Pop Superstar you can live through the trials and tribulations of a typical X Factor/Pop Idol hopeful. Still, if the life of a reality TV popstar seems like a shallow reward for any sort of endeavor, then how about trying your hand at breaking a record in Guinness World Records: The Game.

The last couple of new releases this week are sporting titles with the mud-caked Colin McRae DIRT and the considerably cleaner World Snooker Championship 2008.

In terms of the charts, there have been some surprise developments. First of all, Worms 2 for 1 Pack, a game that has been wavering up and down the charts for some weeks has mysteriously shot to the top spot. Stranger still is the re-entry of Pyramid Bloxx - which though it is certainly deserving - has been out for almost a year.

Similarly Tetris is out and Tetris Blockout is in, and Midnight Pool has also been cast off into the cold dark twilight. It's not all change though as Deal or No Deal, Bejeweled and Brain Challenge are holding their own.
