O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: November 9th

It's that time of year again. The annoying adverts have started, the shops are full of fake snow and tinsel, while the streets are packed with even more stressed, panic-eyed pedestrians than usual.

Yes, Christmas is on the way. The season of good sell to all men and as such O2 is decking its halls and stacking the virtual shelves full to overflowing with new games ahead of this week's java download chart update.

It's not a case of quantity over quality either, with barely a single (stocking) filler amongst the eight releases on show below. Indeed, Urban Attack, My Dog 2, Cafe Solitaire, Need for Speed ProStreet and Shadowalker all managed to scoop a gong of some description from us, scoring seven or above.

With hopes high for Sim City Societies and Call of Duty 4, too, and THQ Wireless' SmakDown vs Raw 2008 hardly being a lightweight itself, it certainly seems like the season to be jolly is approaching for mobile game fans.

Surely all this good cheer will be enough to thaw out the almost entirely frozen top 10 chart, which remains topped by seasonal holiday board-game staple Monopoly Here and Now ahead of the festively bearded Noel Edmond's Deal or No Deal and the five gold rings (and then some) on offer from Sonic The Hedgehog?
