O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: September 21st

With autumn well and truly kicking off and football coverage filling every spare televisual hour, it was only a matter of time before the mobile footie games started shooting into the O2 mobile game charts.

And it's Gameloft's Real Football 2008 that gets off the mark, transferring straight into this week's new releases. Of course, it's not alone in the sporting stakes, with Freddie Flintoff's Powerplay Cricket stubbornly holding onto summer with more vigour than England have been showing in the Twenty20 World Cup.

Elsewhere, Sony's Spider-Man swings back into action with a new puzzle game, while Hands-On is hopeful of some astral inspiration in Asteroid Zone.

All of the above have a fair chance of following Petz's example and breaking into what remains a fairly staid top ten, although to be honest we wouldn't give them more than an outside sporting chance against reigning champions Deal or No Deal, Tetris Mania and Sonic.
