It appears we were wrong to question Noel Edmonds' ability to see off the triple challenge of The Bourne Ultimatum, Guitar Legend and The X Factor.

Indeed, while Deal or no Deal remains stuck to the number one position like a limpet, only the The X Factor has managed to break into the top ten, and then only in the final position. We pity whoever has the job of informing Simon Cowell he's come last this week.

Still, he could always take some comfort from the fact that new arrival (and excellent) Might and Magic II threatens to be the one to finally displace Mr Edmonds from the top spot.

It would be foolish to expect an easy fight, however…
