O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: July 27th
The Sims leapfrog The Simpsons, but can't topple Sonic. Perhaps Playman Extreme Running or Super Pac-Man will do better?
Welcome, once again, to the O2 Java game download chart. Appropriately enough, considering the recent weather, games are literally flooding onto the portal this week, with no fewer than five new titles entering the running for chart success – literally, in the case of Real Networks' superb Playman Extreme Running.
Playman is unlikely to have things all is own way though, with Super Pac-Man and Lego Brick Breaker both expected to prove tough obstacles to clear, while value-packed puzzlers Guess Who? and 2-4-1 Sudoku & Kakuro are more than capable of tripping any game up.
The real challenge, though, is hurdling the existing chart entries. And when even the mighty Simpsons licence is unable to improve on third position, you know it's going to be tough. Aside from the high re-entry of a half-price The Sims 2 and a return to form for Phil The Power Taylor Darts and 3D Pool Urban Hustle, it's been a quiet week on the top table.
The calm before the storm perhaps?
As usual, all the games below are available to buy via the O2 games portal, or by texting the short code (where supplied) from a compatible O2 handset.
