O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: January 23rd

Sports seems to have pretty much passed me by - I never quite understood the appeal of chasing different kinds of balls around different kinds of fields, so I’ve never got to grips with the trends that accompany sports.

It seems, however, that as January draws to a speedy close the gaming populace is beginning to turn its attentions once again to the courts, stadia and fields. In this week’s new releases we see the latest addition to the NBA Pro Basketball franchise, with the 2009 season kicking off with the official mobile game.

But the charts also appear to be looking toward the outdoor arena as Tiger Woods returns to the top ten. It’s not all that long since he disappeared, but he spent more than a few week’s racing up the chart fairway.

Perhaps interest in his game waned a bit as the nights drew in and the frost made the grass all crispy, and now the new Year’s underway we’re once again thinking about taking to the green.

And Football Manager 2009 climbs into the high numbers for the armchair sporting enthusiast, which also suggests a renewed interest in athletic achievement.
