E3 2012: Nyko announces Power Grip for PS Vita and Power Grip Pro for 3DS

After unveiling its tablet controllers for Android yesterday, Nyko has turned its attention to the handheld gaming sphere by showing off a pair of new peripherals for the Vita and 3DS.

These two accessories are called the 'Power Grip Pro' (3DS) and the 'Power Grip' (PS Vita).

Power Grip Pro

Along with an attractive clamshell design, the Power Grip Pro boasts an additional right-side analogue slider and an extended battery. Its hard, protective case will also shield the 3DS from scratches during travel.

The Power Grip Pro will allegedly triple the amount of playing time you can get out of your 3DS, making it an ideal travelling companion. There is no price attached to the Power Grip Pro at the moment, but Nyko expects it to be available in October 2012.

For the PS Vita, meanwhile, Nyko has announced the rather comfortable-looking Power Grip. This peripheral mimics the feel of a PS3 controller by adding two ergonomic handles, which are designed to rest against the palms of a player's hands.

Despite the Power Grip snapping over the back of the Vita, it still affords you access to all of the device's buttons and its rear touch panel. It offers a built-in rechargeable battery that will triple the amount of playtime, as well.

The Power Grip is priced at $29.99, and will be available at select retailers in August 2012.
