Two years on from its UK release, Nintendo's basking in the news that it's sold three million DS and DS Lites. And the good news seems set to continue, as sales tracking company Chart Track reckons the combination of Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite accounts for 68 per cent of 2007's UK handheld sales to date.

In case we'd forgotten, Nintendo's also taken the opportunity to remind us DS was the biggest selling games console in 2006.

Still, there is something we're not so sure about.

In his congratulatory quote on the situation, Nintendo UK head honcho David Yarnton spoke about the, "many more Touch! Generations games launching in 2007..."

We can only wonder what they will be? Nintendo's previously announced UK release schedule doesn't seem to list any of the mass market-focused Touch! Generations titles.

Cute rhythm-action game Elite Beat Agents could be one – it was marketed under the Touch! Generations banner in the US. There's also tile-based puzzler Planet Puzzle League (aka Panel de Pon DS in Japan). And presumably Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training 2 will make an appearance some time too? After all it's been out in Japan since late 2005.

Let's hope Mr Yarnton isn't out of touch…
