Nintendo: Third-party developers experimenting with 3DS AR technology

Earlier in the week, we opined that we'd like to see developers using the Nintendo 3DS capabilities a little better - in particular, the 3D camera.

In an interview with Nintendo Power magazine, Nintendo boss Hideki Konno noted that the AR technology is indeed being played around with by both Nintendo and third-party developers.

"It seems that AR technology is going to become even more widely known and popular," Konno said. "I think it's going to be something that people will want to play around with, whether that's on the developer side or consumer side."

"It's already generating a ton of ideas within the Nintendo development teams, and we've been hearing ideas come from outside developers as well."
