Warner Bros Digital Distribution rhas been in touch to spread the word about its latest iPhone title, Ninja Assassin.

Based on the upcoming film, co-produced by the Wachowski brothers, the game focuses on side-scrolling hack 'n' slash action that puts you in charge of the deadly assassin Raizo.

It’s not for the faint of heart, and gory death scenes and plenty of enemy ninja bodies to cut through mean that Ninja Assassin is intended for mature audiences only.

Separated into four gruesome acts, the main Story mode is 12 levels long and, following the film's narrative, requires you to guide Razio as he butchers a number of different mobs and bosses on his bloody personal vendetta towards those responsible for the execution of his friend.

A secondary Survival game mode sees you wielding deadly chain blades, razor-sharp shurikens, and lethal katans in an attempt to outlast wave after wave of oncoming enemies.

Priced at £2.99 or $4.99 the game, like the film (and that scene in Kill Bill), is graphic in nature and possibly the most violent game on the App Store to date.
