Big Fish gets hardboiled again in iOS puzzler Nick Chase & the Deadly Diamond

Thanks to its gumshoe setting, the original Nick Chase (a Pocket Gamer Gold awardee) was something of a crossover experience - a hidden object/mini-game title for people who didn't think they liked the genre.

That's something publisher Big Fish is hoping to further encourage with the release of the iOS version of Nick Chase & the Deadly Diamond, which slipped out onto the App Store at the end of last week.

Nothing you can't fix

Once again, you can expect beautiful graphic novel art, a gritty film noir atmosphere, a typical set of shifty characters, and plenty of intricate puzzles as you attempt to work out who delivered a strange artifact to your favourite bar, why they did so, and what the curse of the Deadly Diamond exactly is.

Helping you along the way is a hint system and an integrated strategy guide.

As is the case with Big Fish games, Nick Chase & the Deadly Diamond can be downloaded for free for iPhone and iPad.

The full game can be purchased from within the app, priced £6.99, €5.49 or £4.99.
