Drowning in downloads

Nexus One users getting yet another Android 2.2 update
|

If you’re a Nexus One user, you’ll probably be used to the barrage of updates and patches released regularly to Google’s official Android phone.

It’s a far cry from iPhone updates, which can be months apart. But while it's nice to see tinsy tiny bugs and errors patched up by the guys at Google, it's starting to frustrate Nexus One owners who just want to, you know, make a phone call or something without being bogged down in over the air downloads.

The latest patch, FRF91, will be directed instantly to those of you running the FRF85B version of Android 2.2 Froyo. It updates that previous build and, in less than a megabyte, presumably fixes up some very small issues and bugs with the older operating system. IntoMobile couldn’t find anything new or different since installing.

So, Nexus One owners, does this bug you? It’s surely top notch service from the big G to see bugs and errors squashed in the same nano-second they crop up, but does having to install new over the air firmware patches get on your nerves?
