One month later than planned

Vodafone to bring Google Nexus One to Europe in April
|

The Google Nexus One has been available in the US since the start of 2010 and has been thrilling Android aficionados stateside with its slim dimensions, multi-tasking capability, and animated “live” wallpapers. It also sports the very latest version of Google’s mobile OS - Android 2.1.

Vodafone was quick off the mark to confirm that it would be bringing the super-smartphone to UK shores later in the year and tentatively suggested that March would be the magic month.

However, the company has been speaking to the Daily Telegraph and has apparently confirmed that the projected launch will take place in April, instead - which seems perfectly reasonable when you consider there has been no word from Vodafone regarding the mooted March release.

Of course, this will only be of interest to those of you who wish to purchase a Nexus One with a contract. The phone is currently available SIM-free at Google’s website and ships from the US for roughly £330 (not including import duty and VAT).

Damien's mum hoped he would grow out of playing silly video games and gain respectable employment. Perhaps become a teacher or a scientist, that kind of thing. Needless to say she now weeps openly whenever anyone asks how her son's getting on these days.
