Before the iPad came along all the cool kids were talking about Google's Nexus One, and now we've got a reason to talk about it again. According to Play.com, it's coming out in the UK next week, on the 16th February.

The handset will cost you a wallet-closing £599.99 SIM-free to pre-order. You'll be able to get it on contract with Vodafone at some point, but not yet. An FAQ on the Vodafone site indicates that the company is planning an 'early spring' launch for the device.

The same article also helpfully points out that you can still use your unlocked Nexus One with a Vodafone SIM card.

The cost of the Nexus One directly from Google is $529, making Play's price rather insulting. Unless there's something wrong with you, we recommend you resist pre-ordering the device for now.
