Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article each week because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new game that hits the App Store.

These games have recently hit Apple's New Zealand outlet, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Universal Velocirapture
By Adult Swim - buy for iPhone and iPad

Ever been sat around your house watching a movie like Jurassic Park and wondered what really happened to the dinosaurs all those years ago? Well, Adult Swim's latest game aims to educate you. Probably.

This title puts you in control of the "hand of God" (nope, nothing to do with Maradona) and charges you with smiting a variety of differently coloured dinosaurs. We bet you didn't learn that at school.

Asphalt 7: Heat
By Gameloft - buy for iPhone and iPad

You'd better extend your garage. Gameloft's popular Asphalt racing franchise is back for another slice of action, complete with a revamped Multiplayer mode that lets you race five other drivers.

This new iteration features 15 tracks spread across a variety of real-world locations, as well as 60 vehicles from the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin.

Centipede Origins
By Atari - buy for iPhone and iPad

Inspired by Atari's classic Centipede game, Centipede Origins sees you take part in an endless and bloody battle that's being waged between bugs and garden gnomes.

Basically, your mission is to protect your garden from the bugs' onslaught, using six upgradable weapons and gadgets, such as grenades and time warps.

Fish Heroes
By CraneBalls - buy for iPhone and iPad

In Fish Heroes, you take on the role of a bunch of underwater bodyguards, who've taken it upon themselves to ensure a gang of brutal sharks don't leave their water's inhabitants sleeping with the fishes.

Each fishy hero has its own unique skill or power to wield. There's a sumo-style puffer fish, for example, and an extremely agile piranha.

Boom Brigade 2
By 10tons - buy for iPhone and iPad

Whip out your mini-gun (and drag your mind out of the gutter) and fight off waves upon waves of alien invaders across 30 different missions in 10tons's latest iOS title.

This action-packed sequel combines elements of both the line-drawing and tower defence genres, which basically means that you can command your troops in real time, and pause the game and take advantage of its special Tactical mode.

Soccer Superstars 2012
By Gamevil - download for iPhone and iPad

Soccer Superstars 2012 allows you to train up your players and teams to improve their skill, then send them onto the field to compete in four matches: League Match, Village Cup, Event Match, and Quick Match.

After you've beaten this game's AI-controlled opposition, you can try to beat other players from around the world on global leaderboards.

The Act
By Chillingo - buy iPhone and iPad

Playing as a humble window cleaner named Edgar, you're tasked with wooing a beautiful nurse with whom you're madly in love and rescuing your half-wit brother.

Instead of controlling Edgar directly, though, you simply control his emotions by swiping your device's screen in order to react to situations and progress through this interactive comedy.
