Mid-week iOS releases - Total War Battles: Shogun, Shark Dash, Illusia 2, Saving Private Sheep 2, and more

Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article each week because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new game that hits the App Store.

These games have recently hit Apple's New Zealand outlet, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Miniclip's latest iOS release, Hambo, sees you work your way through 200 physics- / puzzle-packed levels in order to rescue your best friend Bacon from the clutches of your sworn enemy.

Hambo's App Store description promises more levels in future updates.

If you fancy guiding a turbo-charged Shaun the Sheep to victory against his piggy foes around 80 farmyard courses, Fleece Lightning is probably the title for you.

Each of this game's courses is littered with jumps (good / bad), obstacles (bad), hazards (very bad), and power-ups (extremely good).

This iPad-only title is based on a Flash game that boasts 25 million fans.

Across the game's 40 missions, you have to take control of a bunch of antibody cells and save an entire alien species from extinction.

Total War Battles: Shogun is a real-time strategy game from the creator of the award-winning Total War PC series. Fortunately for all of we pocket gamers, this iOS edition has been designed specifically for touchscreens.

You have a range of different tasks to complete throughout this game's story-driven campaign, such as constructing buildings, managing your army, and eradicating opposing forces.

This physics-puzzler sees you help a young plastic shark named Sharkee and his miffed gang of toy sharks battle it out with mischievous rubber duckies for bathtub supremacy.

Your aim across this game's 96 levels is to launch your sharks into the air towards their foes, and nab collectible stars that are used to open new stages.

In Gamevil's platformer / action-adventure RPG sequel Illusia 2, you must aid three heroes - Angela, Chris, and Ares - in their attempts to destroy the evil force that's invaded their Dream World.

If you complete the game's Story mode, there are a selection of other modes to delve into, including a PVP mode, Defense mode, Rush mode, and Mission mode.

Your mission in Saving Private Sheep 2, should you choose to accept it, is to grab your catapult, avoid obstacles, and send pesky foxes flying before they steal your fellow sheep.

If you want to take a break from terrorising small animals, you can create your own levels using the in-game editor and share them with other players.

What's New Beelzebub? is the final episode in this five-part series of point-and-click puzzlers. It follows self-styled Freelance Police officers Sam and Max as they begin their final showdown with Satan.

If you're familiar with this series, you'll already know that the guy downstairs has snatched the soul of Bosco, so you're trying to get it back.

Ka-Bloom is another new physics-based puzzle game for the iPhone and iPad. In it, you're tasked with stringing together tasty gems, and feeding a plant-like creature that brings warmth and life to the cosmos.

There are 56 challenging levels to master - most of which can be completed in more than one way.

Lock 'n' Load is a twin-stick shooter that features 16 "massive" Campaign levels, nine additional "huge" levels, and six "tough" challenge maps.

There are 32 different enemies to overcome, but that shouldn't prove too difficult a task: you have shotguns, chainsaws, and a range of other deadly weapons at your disposal, after all.

Using a mysterious ancient amulet, you have to transform between man and wolf to sneak or smash your way through puzzles and ruin a dangerous criminal mastermind's plans.

Your two forms both have their own unique skills - for example, your human form has improved dexterity, whereas your wolf form benefits from increased brute strength.
