A new direction for the franchise

New Class of Heroes: Chrono Academy hitting Japanese PS Vitas on July 19th

Japanese developer ZeroDiv is bringing an all-new Class of Heroes game to Sony's PS Vita, but the forthcoming title won't be a dungeon-crawler like previous entries in the franchise.

Instead, New Class of Heroes: Chrono Academy will be a field type role-playing game featuring a character customisation system that's loaded with a variety of different options.

The title follows three transfer students who are trapped in a time loop and have to repeat one year of their school life over and over again.

New Class of Heroes: Chrono Academy will hit Japanese store shelves on July 19th, and will presumably appear in the Western market sometime in the future - a trademark for 'Chrono Academy' has been filed in English, after all.

Sony's latest handheld isn't the only portable console that'll see some Class of Heroes action in the near future. Late last month, we told you that MonkeyPaw Games and Gaijinworks had partnered up to bring Class of Heroes 2 to PSPs in Europe and the US.
