With Hollywood studios reportedly abandoning the release of UMD movies, PSP owners who want a break from button-bashing might like to look out for the Neuros Video Recorder.

Touted as a convenient, efficient and affordable solution for converting video files into a PSP-compatible format, the Neuros MPEG4 Video Recorder works just like a VCR.

Files are recorded to MPEG4 format from any video source – including TV, camcorder, DVD player and satellite – onto a Memory Stick Pro Duo or Compact Flash memory card.

The resultant movie can then be played back on your PSP by simply transferring the memory card to the console.

Best of all, you'll hardly notice it amongst the rest of your electronic paraphernalia, since the pocket-sized device measures just 11.7 x 8.6 x 1.7cm, and weighs a mere 140g.

Costing £149.99, the Neuros Video Recorder will be distributed in the UK by Pinpoint Consumer Electronics.
