 N-GAGE NEWS

N-Gage is live!

We repeat, N-Gage is live!

Product: N-Gage (next gen platform) | Manufacturer: Nokia
Nokia has launched its new N-Gage games platform. We caught wind of the fact after seeing a Facebook status update from a contact at Nokia, went to the official website, and lo and behold, it's live.

Head here to get started. Handsets supported are the N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 and N95 8GB. The site is suggesting that PC users download Nokia's PC Suite to install the application on their phones, although it's apparently not mandatory.

Four games appear to be live at launch: Asphalt 3: Street Rules, Brain Challenge, World Series of Poker Pro Challenge, and Creatures Of The Deep. That's according to Nokia's own showroom page.

Weirdly, System Rush Evolution, Space Impact Kappa Base, Tetris and Block Breaker Deluxe, which were all part of the First Access trial, don't appear to be on sale. Perhaps they're coming later this week.

But anyway, N-Gage is live. We'll be downloading the app tonight and reporting back tomorrow with our initial assessment, but if you've got a supported handset, get to it! See you on the N-Gage Arena rankings...

Holy hell it just came out of nowhere! Funny how they changed the launch titles :S Oh well who cares, it's finally here, YAY! DD

Oh and there are FIVE games available - System Rush: Evolution being the fifth. I don't blame you for thinking otherwise though, I made the same mistake on my first visit in the Showroom as it's kinda hard to spot ^^

Uh oh, one big problem. The app requires version 20 of the operating system for the standard N95. Vodafone's customised version stops at 11. So unless you know how to change the product code to the default Nokia one which will alow an update up to v20, you're lumbered. Are Nokia and Vodafone doing anything to address this?! I bet they aren't knowing how these things go!
