N-Gage next-gen platform to launch in September

I guess this is what they call stealth marketing. Rather than issue a press release, Nokia has chosen to confirm the launch date for the next-gen N-Gage on its own Future Watch blog.

"We expect EA Mobile and Gameloft to bring a number of top-selling, award-winning titles to our platform between our launch in September and the end of 2007," reads the post.

"They aren't the only ones, as throughout the year we will continue to make exciting announcements of other leading publishers adding their titles to our games catalogue. By early 2008, we expect to have some of the biggest franchises and hottest mobile games included in the N-Gage experience."

As we reported last week, those other publishers may include the likes of Disney, Sega Of America, Sony Online Entertainment, Universal, Square Enix, Capcom, THQ Wireless, Glu Mobile, Digital Chocolate, Tecmo, Namco and Vivendi Games, who all attended an N-Gage workshop in Santa Monica last month.
