It's all kicking off over in San Francisco, with the first announcements around Nokia's next-gen N-Gage platform being made at this week's GDC.

Nokia has confirmed that FIFA 2008 will be appearing on N-Gage, although it's not yet clear whether the game will be out in time for the new platform's launch in September.

Meanwhile, Gameloft has also announced its first five N-Gage titles. Asphalt 3: Street Rules, Brothers In Arms, Brain Challenge and Midnight Pool will presumably be souped-up versions of the publisher's existing mobile games, while the fifth, Hell's Highway, appears to be a new brand.

Nokia has also confirmed that THQ Wireless and Indiagames have joined the N-Gage's publishing roster, along with Glu Mobile, which announced last week that it's doing a version of World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em for the platform.

Finally, Indiagames hasn't announced any specific games yet, but says it 'plans to introduce a variety of games across genres that would appeal to mobile gamers of all skill sets'. That's what we call keeping your options open!
