It’s official: no N-Gage support for N73, N93 or N93i

After almost a year and a half of being promised N-Gage support for the older Nseries phones, Nokia has finally come clean - it’s not going to happen.

Owners of the N73, N93 and N93i have been biding their time since the launch of the Nokia gaming service, with an optimistic ‘support coming soon!’ status being listed on the N-Gage website up until a few weeks ago.

N-Gage forum administrator Redrum finally revealed the bad news in a recent post:

“Although the N73, N93 and N93i were initially planned as N-Gage compatible devices, we have reluctantly come to the conclusion that we won't be able support these devices going forward.”

The reason for this admittance of defeat?

“The decisive factor was that we were not satisfied with the N-Gage experience and N-Gage gaming on these devices.”

No doubt the aging tech would have struggled with some of the more ambitious titles on the market, but as forumite Rob777 goes on to point out, the N93i came with a demo of the super-fast and splendid-looking System Rush Evolution - and it ran like a dream.
