If you needed further proof of the evolution of mobile games and the capabilities of Nokia's upcoming N-Gage platform, look no further than today's announcement Nokia is working on a title that gives players the tools to create their own unique, customised games. All on their mobile phone.

Yamake will incorporate easy-to-use design tools which enable each of its mini-games to be transformed by a player's personal content, such as text, photos and sound clips.

So you'll be able to create and play picture puzzles made from your own photos (transferred from phone or PC) and quizzes made up of your own questions. Your games can then be shared with other users over the N-Gage Arena, through the Yamake online community or via multimedia messages between N-Gage compatible and other S60 devices.

"Yamake is a groundbreaking new game for the N-Gage platform," says Dr Mark Ollila, director of technology and strategy, and head of games publishing at Nokia. "This is exactly what the future of mobile gaming should be about – creating games that you love and want to play, then sharing them with other players."

If Yamake turns out to be as good as it sounds, we agree. It's certainly an exciting concept for mobile from Nokia. You can find out more at the official N-Gage website.
