We need a few more PSP exclusive games, and today one has been announced by publisher Deep Silver. Mytran Wars is a strategy game in the works with Budapest-based developer Stormregion, which previous developed the PC series Codename: Panzers.

The story behind Mytran Wars goes something like this: It's the 23rd century and the earth's natural resources are fast depleting. The ruling multinational conglomerates are searching for new raw material deposits in space in order to avert the impending catastrophe.

It manages to find a planet rich with natural resources, but there's one problem. It's inhabited by extraterrestrials and they don't want to phone home - they'd rather launch a big attack on their meched-up human invaders. And who can blame them?

Your role in the game then is to fight this war - researching new technologies and rearming your mecha. Battles will apparently be fought across full 3D landscapes - either against the game's AI or versus other human opponents in the game's various multiplayer modes.

There are no screenshots of Mytran Wars yet, or even an estimated release date. We'll keep you up to date - click 'Track It!' if a sci-fi strategy game sounds up your street.
