In conversation with Pocket Gamer, MyTown 2 executive producer Seung Won Park exclusively revealed that Booyah's popular check-in game on iOS will be getting a major update very soon.

"We’re wrapping up the first update to the game that will add social features," Park said. "We’ll be incorporating interacting directly with your friends, which will allow you to purchase and access business that you may not otherwise be able to reach."

Like the original, MyTown 2 rewards players for checking-in to real-life locations (think clothes stores, restaurants, etc.) and 'owning' them à la Monopoly. You can then modify the virtual versions of these establishments with decorations and landscape pieces.

You have more pressing reasons to check-in, too, since these visits directly affect your virtual bottom line.

"The check-in in MyTown 2 allows you to ‘speedboost’ the production of your business in your town, and now we give check-in bonuses for meeting certain goals like checking in to three cafes in one day. It's basically an all-new game," Park added.

The iPhone edition of MyTown 2 has already launched, but Park said Booyah is discussing an iPad-only version: "Android is also a possibility, but we haven’t currently announced any plans for support."

MyTown 2 is available now for the iPhone from the App Store.
