If you're ever dreamt of owning your own allotment (and, let's be honest, who hasn't?), you should check out My Veg Plot - a new iPad title from Remode Studios and Merge Games.

Your aim in this grow-'em-up is to take a run-down plot and transform it into a valuable piece of land that produces a variety of colourful (not to mention tasty) veggies. All the while, though, you'll be tackling weather elements, bugs, and diseases.

Once your veggies have grown, you can take them to the in-game market and compete for prizes, or register them on the My Veg Plot website and be in with a chance of nabbing real-world gifts.

"This has been such a fun project to work on. Gardening is a much-loved British pastime, both in the real and online worlds as the success of FarmVille, particularly among adult women audiences, demonstrates," Ella Romanos, Remode's CEO, said.

"My Veg Plot is as enjoyable for seasoned gardeners when it's raining outside as it is for allotment novices, who will discover a whole new world at their fingertips, and may even be inspired to try their hand at growing vegetables for real."

My Veg Plot will be available for Android "later this summer", but you can download it on iOS right now for free.
