Ubisoft announces four new Imagine DS titles

You'll never guess what 'girl' pursuits they're covering now

Ubisoft announces four new Imagine DS titles

There's a plus side to no-one really bothering to make games for girls from the conception of video games up until about two years ago. Which is that it makes it fairly easy to come up with ideas that haven't been done before.

Ubisoft apparently is falling over itself with them, as proven by the fact it's announced four new titles for its Imagine children's series.

Come autumn this year, you'll be able to choose from My Secret World, Imagine Fashion Model, Imagine Teacher and Imagine Girl Band – all of which are coming to DS (and Wii).

Most of that little list are pretty self explanatory. Fashion Model lets you design clothes, Girl Band involves forming a band and climbing the charts and Teacher enables players to 'live the rewarding life of a young teacher'. Clearly she's not teaching in a UK secondary school or she'd be more concerned about knife crime.

My Secret World, meanwhile, is aimed at older teenage girls and offers a fully customisable diary and quizzes designed to help them "know themselves better", according to the press release. The game also includes lots of wireless elements so players can share secrets, play mini-games and compare quiz results with one another.

Games from the Imagine series have already sold over four million copies worldwide, so it's little surprise Ubisoft is continuing to support it with more titles. If you're under the age of 16, surely at least one of these new ones will appeal. But if not, wait a few months and another quartet will probably turn up.
