UPDATE: We will be updating this list with new titles as and when the relevant PR companies get in touch to tell us that their clients' games are on sale.
Edited article follows:
It's that time of year again when the White House gets attacked by aliens, a.k.a. Independence Day. Thank God for Will Smith and all that.
Anyway, to celebrate the American independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain on July 4th, 1776, US games publisher EA has slashed the prices on many of its biggest franchises for iPad and iPhone, including FIFA, The Sims, and Dead Space.
Other iOS publishers like Gameloft and Chillingo have decided to join in the Independence Day sales fun, too, with a number of their titles discounted by up to 80 per cent. Check out the full list below for more details.
Feel free to let us know of any other Independence Day-related discounted games in the comments section below.
All Team17 iOS games down to £0.96 or $0.99 until midnight 9th July GMT.

Some of those EA titles are only on sale in the US - the EU versions aren't discounted. Burnout Crash! and Mass Effect Infiltrator are definitely still £2.99 on the UK Store.
