iPhone 5 is searched for online more frequently than iPhone 4S, according to study by Greenlight
Kindle and BlackBerry beat them both
According to a search terms study published by search and social trends specialist Greenlight, more people are searching for Apple's upcoming iPhone 5 than the iPhone 4S.
Unfortunately for the Cupertino-based manufacturer, though, both Amazon's Kindle and RIM's BlackBerry are far more popular than any of its smartphones.
Back in February, punters in the UK carried out more than 13 million searches for consumer electronics. Of these 13 million searches, 'Kindle' proved the most popular, managing to accumulate 823,000 queries.
'BlackBerry' came in second place with 673,000 searches, and the iPhone 5 followed closely behind with 450,000 searches. Apple's newest member of the iPhone family, the iPhone 4S, only accumulated 368,000 queries.
Search and destroyTablet-wise, Apple didn't fare much better. Combined searches for 'iPad' and 'iPad 3' totalled 669,000, whereas combined searches for 'Kindle' and 'Amazon Kindle' reached 1.91 million.
Neither Android nor Samsung made it onto the top ten list of the most searched-for mobile phones.
