If you keep a keen eye on the iOS hacking scene, you'll already know that it's still currently impossible to jailbreak the iPhone 4S or iPad 2 running Apple's iOS 5 software.
That won't be the case for much longer, though. Pod2g has announced in a
recent blog post that an A5 jailbreak will be released to the public in just "a matter of days".
"Here are some news about the current work on the A5 research. @planetbeing escaped from the sandbox with the help of @saurik. Thanks to their awesome work, there should be nothing left blocking for the A5 jailbreak," the post reads.
"Now it should be a matter of days. Still no precise ETA of course. We all want this to be finished ASAP, we're getting tired!"
Waiting game
It's been around four months since the iPhone 4S hit store shelves pre-installed with iOS 5, so a "matter of days" isn't long to wait if you're eager to hack your phone open.
We'll let you know when the exploit is released.
