iOS 5 - the operating system feature bump for up-to-date iPhones, iPod touches and iPads - is now available to download, and it comes with about 200 or so nifty new features to enjoy.

If you're rocking an iPad 2, built-in gestures let you zip around the OS without ever tapping the home button. Turn then on by hitting Settings> General, and then set Multitasking Gestures to on.

These are all activated by using four or five fingers. If you've got an app open, you can swipe your poly-pinkies left or right to switch between open apps. You can do a multi-fingered pinch to close an app and reveal the homescreen, and swipe up to unveil the multitasking bar.

They're a little funky at first, but stick with them: they make the iPad even more fun to use and can significantly boost your productivity when using a pair of apps in tandem.
