iOS 5 - the operating system feature bump for up-to-date iPhones, iPod touchs, and iPads - is now available to download, and it comes with about 200 or so nifty new features to enjoy.

Apple's own browser Safari has been given a visual overhaul on iPad, and all versions of this mobile web-surfer have received a couple new features.

For example, if you want to use Safari for something a little private - like buying your significant other a birthday present, say, or something less savoury - you can enter a special browsing mode that won't leave a trace.

Hit Settings> Safari, and turn Private Browsing to On to enter this mode. Now, Safari's skin will be black to let you know you've "gone dark".
