As predicted on these pages last month, Anuman Interactive's adaptation of Jean Van Hamme and William Vance's comic book series XIII has drifted onto the shores of Apple’s App Store, available to download now for iPhone and iPad.

In XIII - Lost Identity, you take control of a man who is discovered washed up on a beach (Jason Bourne?), suffering from memory loss (Jason Bourne?), and who has the Roman numerals 'XIII' tattooed on his neck (not Jason Bourne).

As if that wasn't enough to make a man question why he was born, 'XIII' is also wanted for the murder of the President of the United States. Bet he wishes he'd stayed asleep.

Logic dictates

Playing through animated scenes adapted directly from the XIII comics, you interact with the game world through your inventory and through a range of logic puzzle mini-games.

Behind the cerebral gameplay, though, lies a breathless plot full of conspiracy theories, danger, and political intrigue. Check out our screenshots in the top-right corner for some hints on where this adventure will take you.

XIII - Lost Identity is available for the iPhone now, priced at £2.49 / $3.99 [buy]. An iPad version, XIII - Lost Identity HD, is also available, costing £3.99 / $5.99 [buy].
