iOS 6 expected to be revealed at WWDC on June 11th

Game Name: WWDC 2012 | Manufacturer: Apple | Format: iPhone, iPad
Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place in San Francisco from June 11th-15th, and it should prove an interesting one for iOS fans.

Philip Schiller, SVP of worldwide marketing for the technology behemoth, said that the company "can't wait to share the news about iOS and OS X Mountain Lion with developers".

Already, the speculation vultures have begun circling the first part of that statement, with the obvious suggestion being that iOS 6 will be revealed during the conference.

Other potential items that may be on the WWDC agenda this year include the long-rumoured (though never actually sighted) Apple television (or iTV, if you want to step on a few pre-existing trademarks), and the subject of every rumour on the internet: the iPhone 5.

Genius

While the keynote on the first day will likely be the most interesting part of the conference for journos and readers, developers looking to attend the event can expect to find a whopping 100 technical sessions and over 1,000 Apple staff running hands-on labs.

If you're interested in popping along to the Moscone West center for the event, do bear in mind that tickets cost - steady yourself here - $1,599. Oh, and they're likely to sell out pretty fast, despite the price.

Never mind if you can't get a ticket / live hundreds of miles away across the Atlantic Ocean: all technical sessions will be made available on the Apple Developer website at a later date, and you can always go hands-on with a Genius at your local Apple Store. Figuratively speaking.
