Virtua Tennis Challenge is ready to take its first service on the App Store, having just stepped onto the iOS court.
Laboured sporting metaphors aside, this is the first chance for Apple customers to get to - ahem - grips with the most recent entry in Sega's tennis franchise.
Released for the Xperia Play back in March, the game's excellent animations and tight controls earned it a Gold Award from our reviewer.
Naturally, we're dying to see how the game performs on a touchscreen-only device, and whether the absence of physical controls will be an issue.
Ace featuresAs for the game's content, you'll be delighted to read that
Virtua Tennis Challenge's hefty roster of 50 players; 18 stadia; and Exhibition, World Tour, and Multiplayer modes have all arrived intact after the transition from Android to iOS.
If you fancy lobbing some cash at
Virtua Tennis Challenge, you will find it on the App Store from midnight this evening for around £2.99 / $4.99.

That'd be ace. Hopefully not with the same terrible emulator as the older Mega Drive/ Genesis titles from Sega, though.

Sega arcade games should fit the iOS perfectly. Let's hope for the great racing games to be the next: Daytona, Sega Rally, Out Run, Indy 500, and others, like After Burner (Xbox live version). Fingers crossed.
