UK-based developer and publisher Thumbstar Games has announced that its first two titles - Porkchop and Mouse, and Clumsy Pirates - are now available to download from a number of different app stores.

Porkchop and Mouse is an interactive storybook from acclaimed children's author Fiona Roberton. In this game, your child can read and record its own voice, which improves your offspring's pronunciation. You can grab it for iOS for £1.49 / $1.99 [buy] and Android for £1.79 [buy].

Clumsy Pirates, on the other hand, is a swashbuckling puzzle game in which you take on the role of Billy the Mop - a pirate who must successfully hurl bombs overboard before they explode, and collect gold coins across 96 levels.

This puzzler features both Game Center and OpenFeint support. It's available for Android for £1.79 [buy] and BlackBerry for $1.99 [buy]. It's "coming soon" to iOS.

The only way is up

"These games are the start of a rapidly escalating release slate focused on quality and playability," Gareth Edmondson, Thumbstar Games's CEO, said.

"Our continued focus is to break open more markets and opportunities for the developers we represent, enabling them to maximize the return on their IPs."
