Chillingo to publish Radiangames's XBLIG spin-off Super Crossfire on iOS

We first caught wind of Super Crossfire back in March, when developer Radiangames released a trailer and revealed that the game would be available “soon” on PC, Mac, web, and iOS.

“Soon” is a relative word, but in the context of iOS gaming it's fair to say that Super Crossfire has broken through the “soon” barrier and into the lawless “delayed” region of the metaphorical game cosmos. This region, of course, is littered with the junk shells of abandoned projects, and fans of may have been fretting over the fate of Super Crossfire.

Thankfully, Radiangames has announced on its blog that Super Crossfire is still coming, and furthermore that it's going to be published by prolific EA-owned outfit Chillingo.

In case you're not sure why you should be excited about Super Crossfire, Radiangames is one of the most acclaimed developers for Xbox Live Indie Games, thanks to the Crossfire series, JoyJoy, Fireball, and others.

Super Crossfire is a colourful neon shooter in which you can flip between the top and bottom of the screen. Think high-tech disco Space Invaders with an extra axis of advance. Radiangames calls it "the next evolution in the arcade shooter genre."

We've contacted Chillingo and Radiangames for a release date and price, so stay tuned.
