Developer War Balloon Games has used Reddit to reveal Star Command - an intriguing cross between Game Dev Story and Star Trek.

You're required to explore the universe at the help of spacecraft, discovering planets, meeting new races, and avoiding danger where possible.

Star Command will give you the ability to build your own vessel and outfit it with components of your choice, such as long range scanners, diplomatic facilities, and weapon bays.

You'll also be able to hire and manage numerous crew members - each with a varied skillset needed for research, tactical, and engineering tasks, amongst others. You'll earn new skills as you progress.

If Star Command is anywhere near as addictive as Game Dev Story, production at Pocket Gamer towers is sure to dwindle.

Star Command is expected some time this summer for both Android and iOS. Check out the screenshots above.
