The Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning tactical flicker Squids will be getting a Wild West-themed sequel this summer on iOS.

In Squids Wild West, our fishy creatures are fighting it out dressed loosely as your typical Western characters, such as the wide-brimmed hat-wearing cowboy and the face-painted Native American.

The gameplay remains as unique as ever, however, with your flicks determining the attack and movement of your characters, and battles taking place over a series of turns.

If you own the original Squids game, you can check out a three-level sample of the upcoming title right now by downloading the latest update. As in the original, the underwater artwork in Squids Wild West looks absolutely splendid.

We'll find out if Squids Wild West can outride its predecessor when the game launches on iOS in the summer.
